The title of the work "light of (a lamp) knowledge" is ironic yet quite literal. It refers to a time when knowledge had to be acquired by the light of lamps, string lights, and other battery-powered devices.

In the video, I reflect on the first blackouts of the full-scale war in 2022. I experienced them as a student, so I chose that identity as my primary one to recall that period. This mosaic is compiled from phone galleries — mine and those of a few friends. It captures naive student memories, thoughts, and collages that serve as a reminder of one of Russia's many crimes — massive attacks on critical infrastructure.

In the summer of 2025, it seemed to me that this period was far enough in the past to look at it from a distance, yet close enough to have gathered plenty of memories. A few months later, people familiar with the project said it was time to make a sequel because attacks on energy infrastructure resumed in the fall — this time with renewed intensity.
