Even during the ongoing full-scale war, people look for rest, calmness, and carefreeness. While most Ukrainian resorts are either occupied by Russia, mined, or polluted because of Russian ecocide, people are quite creative in finding a place to rest. For example, the beach near Vilnohirsk in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast became popular. Because of the white sand, the media nicknamed it the Maldives.
The purpose of the area may change drastically over time. More than 60 years ago, the area near Vilnohirsk turned from a natural oasis into a place for industrial waste, and not so long ago into a tourist attraction. And local residents who know the entire history of this place are not in a hurry to rest there.
